FIRST TERM SPEAKING TEST FOR 2ND C.S.E.




v  Imagine you are at home and the phone rings. You pick up the phone and answers. It’s your friend that wants to go to the shopping centre to buy some clothes for her/his sister’s wedding.
Ø  Write the conversation between you and your friend.
§  Remember to use the appropriate vocabulary for invitations:
·         Do you want to come?
·         I have to …
·         Hello, it’s …
·         Shall we meet at …?
·         Ok, see you then.
v  Your friend decides to invite his/her cousin and they go to the shopping centre talking about a photo of Justin Bieber.
Ø  Write the conversation between you and your friend and his/her cousin.
§  Remember to use the appropriate vocabulary for physical description (Look at the vocabulary worksheet on describing people)
§  You should use the descriptive structure:
·         From the top to the bottom.
·         From the left to the right.
·         Use the verbs “to be” and “to have got”.
·         Use the present continuous tense.
v  You arrive at the shopping centre and you meet your friend at his/her cousin. He/she introduces him/her to you.
Ø  Write the conversation between you and them.
§  Remember to use the appropriate vocabulary and structures (page 14, exercise 14 from the student’s book)
v  You and your friends go into a shop and start looking and choosing clothes for the wedding.
Ø  Write the conversation between you and your friends while you are shopping and with the shop assistant.
§  Remember to use the appropriate vocabulary for shopping:
·         Would you like to try…?
·         How much is it?
·         What about this one?
·         What size are you?
·         Do you have a bigger/smaller one?
v  You must divide the group as follows (Add roles if there are spare students in one group, e.g. another shop assistant in a shoe shop):
Ø  Student A: you.
Ø  Student B: a friend.
Ø  Student C: a friend’s cousin.
Ø  Student D: a shop assistant.
v  You can finish the video as you want:
Ø  Remember no to read while you are acting.
Ø  You all must participate and appear talking in the video.
Ø  Don’t be shy.
Ø  Be creative: use your imagination to create the dialogues and the settings.
